This pink petrified wood is oh so magical and completely natural. 

Petrified wood is, in our opinion, an under-rated stone but her magic to us is so incredibly special. Petrified wood is old, tens and often hundreds of millions of years old! It contains the energy and magic of ancient forest and vegetation that belonged to a thriving ecosystem that once supported dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures on our magnificent earth. 

Petrified wood is fossilised remains of once living tree and plant matter. Completely transformed to stone, organic materials are replaced with primarily quartz. The lengthy petrification process occurs when plant debris is buried underground by sediment or volcanic ash and is protected from decomposition due to a lack of oxygen. Mineral-rich water then flows and slowly permeates the wood, and it's these minerals that are responsible for the array of colours found in petrified wood. Our beautiful pink shade of petrified wood can be attributed to its manganese content.
